Who Are Strangefates?

Strangefates are a real life band within the virtual world of Secondlife. In real life they known as the Molecules. They were formed by brothers Dave and Rob in Sheffield in the eighties producing a number of albums that reflected their influences in Krautrock, Space Rock, and Ambient music. They toured briefly in the 80s and 90s, but the band are more renowned for their epic studio recordings and accompanying graphics.

Rob's talents in 3D art led to a new lease of life for the band when they became a cartoon parody of themselves and a number of memorable images and animations appeared on the website www.invisibleray.co.uk and www.strangefates.com

The brothers continued to record with And.D becoming the regular drummer, and Johnny Nightingale, the band's legendary Silent Vocalist, despite having a pretty good singing voice.

In November 2006, Dave used the virtual world Secondlife as a platform to link up the graphics, music, animations the Molecules had previously created and to further develop the virtual image they had accidently developed for themselves.
